On March 7, 2026, we invite you to join us for our traditional Ghanaian engagement ceremony — a joyful expression of love, family, and culture.
To make the most of your time in Ghana, we’ve curated a week of experiences for our invited guests. Participation is entirely optional, but we’d love to share these with you.
-
Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. Please check the website of the Ghanaian embassy or consulate in your country to see if you need a visa.
All EU and French citizens do require one.
To apply, you’ll typically need:
A valid passport (with at least 6 months remaining)
A completed visa application form
A passport-sized photo
Proof of accommodation and return travel
A yellow fever vaccination certificate
We recommend applying at least 3 months before your departure date.
-
All travellers aged 9 months and older must present a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate upon arrival. Other recommended vaccinations (e.g. hepatitis A/B, typhoid, tetanus, MMR, polio) depend on your personal health and itinerary. We recommend consulting a travel clinic before you go.
-
Arrive at Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra. For our March 7 ceremony, we recommend guests aim to arrive by either March 5 or March 6 in order to join welcome meet-ups and group activities smoothly. (Fun fact: March 6th marks Ghana’s independence day and is a public holiday!)
-
Yes. We are arranging group airport transfers and sightseeing transportation for all included guests. Details and schedules will be shared once your RSVP is submitted.
-
We will provide a list of trusted accommodation options: from family accommodation to mid-range hotels and boutique stays in Accra. Group block bookings or special rates will be offered when available.
-
March is generally warm and sunny, marking the tail end of the dry season. In southern Ghana (Accra, Cape Coast, etc.), you can expect daytime temperatures between 27°C and 32°C (80–90°F), with occasional breezes and moderate humidity. Pack light, breathable clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to stay comfortable.
-
Guests are encouraged to dress in colourful, formal clothing in honour of the occasion. Traditional attire is welcomed but not required: feel free to wear what feels respectful and celebratory.
If you’re interested in wearing traditional Ghanaian clothing, we’d be happy to help you coordinate the procurement of tailored outfits once RSVPs are confirmed. -
Dress comfortably and casually for the excursions. We suggest light, breathable clothing, walking shoes or sandals, sunglasses, a hat or head covering, and swimwear for the beach days. For cultural sites like castles or museums, modest clothing is advisable.
-
The local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS).
Credit and debit cards are accepted in many shops, restaurants, and hotels in Accra and larger cities. However, it’s helpful to carry some cash, especially when travelling to rural areas or local markets. -
A delicious mix! Expect a variety of local Ghanaian dishes, as well as continental meals to suit all palates. Whether you're adventurous with food or prefer something familiar, you’ll be well catered to.
